ACF 50

hi pete4 , this stuff is great , only spray in hard to reach places , spray it on an old micro fibre cloth to apply on all the other places but keep well away from brakes , to be safe clean discs with brake cleaner when you have done , some will burn off on start up , cheers .

I've used this on my previous bikes, it is very good stuff . As roadster man says, I also use it on a cloth to wipe over the bike and only spray on places I can't get to with the cloth. It's quite thick and can go on most of the bike except brakes.

I must have been using this stuff of almost 10 years,
I spray it onto a 1" paint brush and paint it on all nuts bolts and fixings, (apart from brake discs) I spray it into all electrical connectors , wiring etc, I perhaps go a little over the top with it but I never have any rust forming, and I ride throughout the year even when there's salt on the ground,
I clean it off in the spring and then re apply, then again before winter,

Thanks for your opinions guys, my Classic is ready to pick up this week, so I'll get some on it before I do too many miles.
Although I don't know how I'm going to resist just getting on and riding it!

Do the screws under the seat and around the seat lock key hole, I missed these on mine first time around,

Sorry for reopening after so long, but I have a question for those who have experience with ACF-50. I bought it and wanted to know what happens if it is applied on the exhaust pipes

I avoid any hot parts as much as possible as it will discolour a bit. I just had to replace my manifold studs and nuts as completely corroded even with 'painting' them with a small brush. Lots of stuff on youtube on application (not that its rocket science).

It smokes like f*ck and burns off as soon as they heat up.

It's fantastic everywhere else and has protected my bike perfectly through a full winters riding, but it doesn't do anything at all for the exhausts.

I wouldn't bother unless the bike will be ridden in bad weather. It actually attracts dirt in my experience and will look worse while coated in it.

I cover my bikes in it over winter and then wash it all off in the summer, usually revealing a nice, non rusted bike underneath all the accumulated dirt.

I had mine done by all year round biker it doesn't attract dirt the dirt falls off with a hosepipe best thing I've had done needs to be applied properly

If you're getting the Classic definitely do the spoked wheels because mine rusted badly within 6 months of sitting in my garage....next to my 6 year old mountain bike that doesn't have a lick of rust on it.

I've already got some ACF-50 on order for the Icon I brought home yesterday. I wanted to get the bike treated as soon as I could while it was still pretty new and factory clean.
