If you ride in a hot/tropical climate like the Philippines and get stuck in hell's traffic jam then no amount of clothing can protect you, I am speaking from experience. The only resolution is to ride faster. Above 30km/hr the heat dissipates well and good.

I would never encourage riding a motorcycle wearing short pants. But to be honest, I've done so a few times.
