Just once again missed my planned ride with mates due to bad battery. Ok my fault in not checking it last night but really sick and tired that a 1 year old bike battery will not hold a decent charge. My Monster 1100S I had for 5.5 years never ever had a battery charge to it ( mainly because the tank didn't lift for easy access ) and it never ever failed me .

Might decide to swap the battery out for a Motobatt. I don't have accessories attached anymore but did last June for the IoM TT but just a sat nav plug.

Hello

Did you compare the weight of your Monster battery and your Scrambler one ?
Recent batteries are often less heavy than older ones, due to a smaller amount of lead. Consequently, they don't last as long as heavier ones.

When I buy a new battery, I never take first price model. What you earn on one side (price), you loose it on the other side (duration).

I started my bike 3 times in 5 months, no problem what so ever. Could something be draining the battery?
Possibly but I should have that eliminated. As I said Monster never an issue and that stayed idle for winter months generally. Have to say when I rode it often it was ok but something is wrong with it or battery.
