Evening All new to the forum and hopefully picking up my UE with the high termi at the start of march.
I'll be doing a few longish trips around the uk and hopefully to France at some point and need a good waterproof bar mount for the phone.
Any recommendations

I use a clip front waterproof holder for my S5. It was about £25 from eBay and works very well. I have it in a Ram mount on one of the riser bolts, with a USB cable run from the socket under the seat.
Hopefully you can see it clear enough in the pic?

It'll reach but it will be fairly tight, from my experience. Also, you may want to get a more robust cable thats a bit longer too. My cable (brand new apple) stopped working after a long trip. Vibration maybe? I now have a stronger(stiffer) cable that works fine. Just thought I'd mention...

I use a 1.5m cable which works just fine. The usb port is under the seat on the right. There is loads of room to route a cable without lifting the tank.
The rain riding down to the South of France was torrential for about 4 hours, and it was fine. The only issue is the touch screen won't work with gloves, but once the sat nav is set it wasn't an issue. I use the TomTom app and it was spot on. You download the maps to your device so don't need a network to navigate.
However I'm on Three so can use my phone in France at no extra cost. If you are connected to the netword, the app actually warned me of congestion ahead and was really accurate, don't ask me how!

I've used both the Ram X-Mount and the molded iPhone 6+ mount on mine. Ton up on crappy roads and I've not lost the phone yet.

The X-Mount is pretty good, but there is a flaw in the design that let's it rotate about 15 degrees depending on orientation. Not a huge deal.

I've had 2 mounts and phone cases from a company called UltimateAddons.

They do lots of different bike mounts and charger kits. Thankfully I won't need a charging kit this time, due to our USB socket.

I'm going to get the ball mount that replaces one of the handlebar bolts. With our clock being off set to the right, the top left bolt should be the perfect location.

Ultimate Addons do waterproof cases for all the iPhones and the major android phones. The case for my iPhone 4 was perfect, the one for my iPhone 5s let in a tiny amount of water once and required some modification to work, as it was designed for the iPhone 5. So I'll get a new one for my iPhone 6s. Too bulky for everyday use but great on the bike. The 3 prong mount they use is very secure and simple to use.

I'd use something like a LifeProof case but it isn't waterproof with a charger plugged in, which makes it useless on the bike.

Ive gone for the ultimate add ons one in the end as I saw one in the flesh and seems pretty good but heads up if you want to charge it on the move it will need a really small plug on the phone side.
Pick up the bike on friday so will see how it goes

Yeah, some 3rd party cables are larger but it's designed to work with the standard cable on the lighting connector end.
Hope it works out for you.
