If it runs fine, you don't need it.

Some (many?) Scramblers run kind of jerky at low speeds, and the Boosterplug tries to solve this by fooling the ECU it's colder out outside than it really is. So the fuelling becomes a little richer.

On a 2017 model you don't need this imho. The fueling is buttery smooth on these.

It did wounder to my UE when it was one the bike, throttle was way smoother and a little gain in performance.

With the Race upgrade from the Termignoni there is no need for it anymore.
