Hello

I've mounted a Classic rear mudguard on my Desert Sled. It's really easy !
It took me longer to polish the mudguard than installing it. I just needed to drill a new 6 mm hole in the plate mount, 1 cm near the original one backward direction, so the mudguard can be secured on the plate mount.

And now, my DS really goes Desert Sled Classic :)

Hello
What is that square teal-color thing mounted on the side of your fork?
In France, you must display a proof for your bike insurance. It's a green square paper with the name of the company, contract id and the registration id for the bike. This metal square is there to display this small paper.

Hey, you guys who've bought the Classic rear fender, how much did you pay for it?

I saw one hanging in a Ducati shop today and the price tag was $350, ouch! That'a a lot of coin for a small aluminum fender. But I totally agree it's the "right" fender for the Sled. I really wish Ducati offered the same fender in white plastic.

That's a kit Dan, it includes the fender and rear subframe. Smifff has a front and rear set for sale, you'll see what I mean:

Gotcha,

I have seen just the 2 fenders listed for $380 in many places online.

I was in the Santa Barbara Dealer yesterday and they had the rear only hanging on the wall tagged at $350.

All I need for the Sled is the rear fender, but $350 for a fender is still $$$. I think I can get a discount from the dealer I bought the bike from as I'm a member of their sponsored Ducati owner's club and they offer a 20% discount on parts for members. I will see what their price is for a rear fender only.

A follow up on the Classic rear fender.

The part number for the rear fender alone is 56510811AB and I've found it for around $125 on a UK Ducati site.

I will check with my local dealer tomorrow to see what my price would be from them.

A little follow up on the Classic rear fender.

I dropped by the dealership today. Their best price with my owner's club discount is $175 +tax, $188 here in Ventura county SoCal.

I created an account on Startwin (they are in the Netherlands) to see how their price worked out. It turned out shipping was 50 Euros so 127 + 50 (no tax for us) the total when converted was $218, which btw way is MSRP for it here.

The other shop in the UK didn't have it in stock and I "suspect" once stock is updated the price will also, but I haven't tried to contact them to verify yet.

I scanned fleabay and didn't find anything remotely interesting and I haven't turned up much else on the web. So far then it looks like my local dealership is the best price for me.
