Personally I have found that some McGuire's Detail Spray and a disposable cloth work the best, some other things that work well if you are determined to use water is to spray first with S-100.

Hi,
Anyone got any good tips for cleaning the wire spokes of brake dust? Am assuming that aiming a hose at them is not the best idea?
