Anybody have any tips on customizing the side panels? I wanna do either a brown leather with the 80s Ducati logo or a woodgrain pattern. Is there a vendor that does such work that anyone would recommend?
Most members I know have modded their own side panels, should be loads of pics on here, but Ducati do quite a few different ones like black, carbon, chrome etc
Has anyone fitted the TechSpec tank grips on a Classic yet? I'm thinking of putting them on to prevent marking the tank panels, which seem prone to scratching easily. They are made by a USA based company, and advertised on eBay.
Thanks, Sarah. The sheet looks useful and good value, as it includes grips pads and a tank protector sheet as well, which may stop the Wolfman bag from slipping, even though I have a non-slip rubber sheet beneath it already. Cheaper than the Scrambler tank grips alone ------!!
I'm sure the AA will be able to cut out tank grips to suit the Classic from the pads.
I went direct to their website, TechSpec Motorcycle Tank Grip Pads. They list Scrambler specific tank pads. You can buy direct from the site. Looks like a good product.
They are not in stock yet. The General Universal Sheets TechSpec Gripster are available in the UK from trackdaytyres at Burton on Trent, for less than £40 on eBay. This kit seems better value than the individual tank pads for the Classic - it's the same material, apparently - but you would need to cut them to size. I have not consulted the AA about it yet, but if she thinks it is feasible, I'll probably buy the sheet.
