I am wondering if anyone has fitted any of the following two handlebars. One is 22mm and the other is tapered 1 1/8.

Are they a straight fit? I have been told that they are not predrilled for switch gear.

It seems a lot of people fitting new bars just shave off the mounting points on the switch gear, it's much easier than drilling the bars. Not recommending but I've not heard of anyone having issues after doing it.

I think you can get drill 'guides' that make drilling tubes accurate and easy...?

I drilled new holes even in my FT bars. Towards end of the bar approx 15mm compared to original hole. I wish I drilled the indicator side a little more to the top, so that the switch would be 15°higher (to the front tho) but I am used to it now

I have always just shaved off the pins in the controls. Mounted correctly, they never move anyway. If they do for some reason, a little bit of rubber cement applied to the contact areas where they meet the bars when you install them and they'll never move.
