In situations like that you can also downshift to slow down. The main trick is to not panic though. I'll take a look at mine at lunch. The plastic window is a bit hard to see into compared to my kawasaki.
Ever use the Font brake reservoir
I have looked at mine but it is so dark I am unable to read the level through the small glass viewing area. This morning on my way to work thee front brake gave out completely. Not sure if it was the fluid, cable or whatever. I am dropping it off at Ducati dealer in 20 minutes during lunch. It was quite scary when trying to stop quickly by jumping on the rear brake pedal. They really need to improve the rear brake. Well I certainly am going to. Maybe even double up on Brembos in the front also.
