Germany has been a good year for Ducati, especially the Scrambler, Sales have been in excess of 1,500 units, making it the eigth or ninth most popular model, it could have been more if Ducati had produced the goods.
No idea where the stats come from but how do you know the source you checked it against was accurate
Edit: Found this on their website Where does the data come from?
The data is based on the "Vehicle licensing statistics" data published by the Department for Transport, which in turn is extracted from the DVLA's vehicle database.
I also have a Ducati 907ie. That site seems to suggest that only 6 are registered with 2 having been taxed this year and the other 4 SORNed. I'm also a member of the ducatipaso.org forum and know from the amount of other UK riders that the figures are rubbish.
A Motorcycle News interview this week with the Ducati Boss Claudio Domenicali , he stated that more than 14,000 scrambler models had been sold around the world in just 10 months, helping Ducati to sell more than 50,000 motorcycles in a year for the first time in its history,
He also said the VW crisis would not effect Ducati, and they didn't need any investment, and Ducati fans can relax ,
