Just downloaded a few pictures of yesterdays Service and ride out, Here's the one of my little screen, it really does work, in a fashion, I like it so that's all that matters :)
Oh , and the headlight guard ,for catching very large insects :D

I like the screen and the headlight guard does the screen deflect enough wind for you or do you think a small windshield would be different? I like the minimalist look of that screen.

In the UK our consumer laws were slightly different to USA.
It used to be a manufactures could not dictate that a service had to be done by them. The stipulation was the garage/agent had to use genuine parts and be VAT registered. They then dropped the vat reg. bit but still have to use OEM parts.
It was also against the rules to force punters to have to use the dealer to re-set the service lamp on the dash. Therefor they hide the instructions in the manual.
If there is a warranty claim that the company wants to contest, they have to prove in court incompetence of the service agent the customer used.

In the written law it states that these rules apply to mainstream manufactures of a certain size. It excluded what's considered small scale production which at the time included KTM and Ducati and a few special car manufactures.
I'm not sure nowadays about Ducati especially since Audi came along.
Bike manufactures generally seem to get away with ignoring these laws in the UK. Many seem to think they only apply to car and that bikes are a 'grey area'. It will need someone to take a bike manufacturer to court to get a conclusive answer.
Meanwhile it pisses me off that I'm expected to take my bike to the main dealer to get the service light reset. I have software that will do this and more for the bikes with the Marelli ECUs, I can reset the oil service and Desmo Service lights on the MTS, I have something that might work on the M3C ECU on the Scrambler but I haven't got a bike to try it on yet!
I'll be taking it to Ducat Glasgow for the first service since it's part of the warranty. After that who knows?
Incidentally ,Ducati Glasgow charge a whopping £299 to do the PDI + plates and on the road charges, but they don't charge their customers for the 1st service.

Looks good - although don't think it would suit mine ;). Does the bike ride any better after service? Any improvements on throttle?

It's all about the proud feeling when walking across the car park to your bike, I don't mean 'check me, bet your jealous' I mean the inner feeling even when there's nobody else there.
For what's it's worth, I think your bike looks 'the biz'

Nobody has actually said and I didn't ask but I had it in my head that they don't charge for labour and we only pay for parts ? (oil & filter) and of course the sump plug washer, something I've never charger for. ever.

Sorry ,I did mean to answer your question, think I did on another thread, :)

After the service I started her up and it seemed to run smoother, Got a little further down the road and I was thinking , I can certainly notice the difference, couldn't really pinpoint what it was or why, but it seemed quieter, a mile or so out of town, and I accelerated up to 50 mph felt different in a nice sort of way, but after a few miles it became the norm , I'll not be able to tell you if the throttle has changed until I take it out first thing in the morning when it's not warmed up, and I'm travelling on our crap roads for 5 miles,
Sorry I can't be more specific ;)

ps, My little screen made a difference too

Yes. Oil, filter, copper washer and £6.50 + VAT for Service Consumables, whatever they are. I didn't notice until I got home or I would have queried it.

Poor show compared to what some others seem to get.
£6.50 consumables will be for paper hand wipe, greases and oil disposal etc. I always felt uncomfortable charging for stuff like that but I suppose somebody has to pay and shite rolls down hill.

Maddog ! When I do a deal for a new bike I always ask for the first service to be FOC, Just the same with any accessories, they are fitted foc too,
You need to ask the question when you ordered the bike, Never failed yet

I think Woods treat all their customers with the same respect, Well, the ones I've spoken to :)

Hmmm Woods (my dealers) told me about service costs, but then said as an afterthought as I was leaving after picking up my bike, it would be free? Personally I think this is due to Elvisto's deals :encouragement:
