I looked everywhere for information on this process and finally found the following instructions on the Pro Italia website. I'm about to install a used unit on my Icon and will advise on anything unusual.

I installed one on my Icon a few weeks ago, and the only difficulties I experienced were:

The "no. 2 special screws" (N2) were WAY over torqued from the factory. I had to resort to slipping a box wrench on a hex key and flogging that with a mallet. Uttered several curses and they finally came out.

The "no. 4 damping pads" (17) were difficult to insert into the silencer supports. I soaked them in scalding water to soften them a bit, and then they went in more easily. My kit was new, so yours should already be inserted.

I forgot all about your advice and ended up having a super easy time.

The portion of instructions saying to remove the footpeg assembly can be ignored. Undo the spring, undo the two mounting points, wiggle off the stock exhaust. Don't worry about the footpeg assembly.
