My Icon got flashing dashes in odometer. The dealer reset the TOT after receiving a code from Italy Ducati.

Checking all electric connectors of battery, they said all are OK.

Unfortunately, the problem relapsed 4 times, after unexpected abrupt stopping of the engine while running.

Should I bring my Icon to the dealer every hundreds mile to reset ODO?

Anyone got similar problem with repetitive manner?

I have the same problem after winter storage (flat battery) with the flashing dashes on total kilometres. Am waiting for my dealer to answer how to fix it. I live 3000 klm away and its now nearly out of warranty.
Have tried disconnecting the battery, checked all wiring, but still flashing lines. Trip compuer, speedo all working fine, just no total?

Northern Italy is virtually at a standstill until further notice.

I have the same problem with my 2016 scrambler,just hit a small pothole and then check engine indicator suddenly shown up for +- 1second and then "tot" is flashing

so,all i need is reset the ecu on ducati dealer?

I took my bike into ducati dealer, and finally got the code from Italy to set the odometer value. They said to me the issue was due to battery dead a weeks earlier, so I'm not so sure about that. Anyways I have it back, waiting for this Covid19 thing calm down so we can ride again!

Just now started having the same issue. It’s not purely a flat battery issue.
I’ve been out for a ride with my girlfriend all day and stopped to pickup a bit of food on the way home...

When starting the bike back up, it failed to start, the ignition turned itself off and back on as if I’d turned the key off/on.
This has happened before but usually it’s fine, just starts up again.

This time, my oddometer is now flashing blank lines and my trip 1 and 2 no longer count up...
Trip 1 actually looks gave to reverted to a previous value as I reset it when I filled up and I did 50-60 miles before stopping, yet it shows 23.

Very strange but suspect this is going to need some faffing and £££ at the main dealer to get sorted.

Did you thought about buying ECU flashing device, I am thinking about same as it is some chronic issue with scrambles and just need a reset.

bit pricey for something I’ve not needed until now. At some point I want a custom re-map done though.

still haven’t got around to getting this looked at. No idea if the bike is counting miles or not.

Recently changed the battery, but everything was working for around 300 miles. Just phoned my nearest Ducati dealer who said I'd need to bring it in for diagnostics. Bit of a pain as it's a 120 mile round trip and they're not taking bookings until the end of September.

Similar thing happened when I had clocks replaced on a previous scrambler. The clock and the ECU both record the total mileage. So with the correct codes from Ducati, the clocks can be be told to sync with the ECU.

That’s how it was explained to me. But the dealership that did that work turned out to be untrustworthy, so don’t take my word for it.

I assumed this would be the required solution. I’ve felt no rush to book in yet. Too busy enjoying the bike!

bike was in getting a service and belts done at ducati Glasgow. Battery was disconnected and odometer went to 0000,
They had it for weeks. Got the bike delivered back to me and immediately checked the mileage. Should have been roughly 6,200 miles. Got it back with 12,400 miles on it.
At one point, after using a code form Italy, the mileage went to 24,800. Definite issue with these bikes. That’s four times what or it should have been, then double what it should have been. Seems rather odd.
Bikes due an MOT and don’t want the incorrect mileage recorded. Contacted Ducati Glasgow who said just get it MOT’d and they’ll sort out the mileage correction With the DVLA.... yeah right. Of course they will.
Really puts me off the brand and my local dealer.

Got mine booked in to get looked at in a few weeks.

Issue with the bike cutting out or refusing to start/ignition resetting completely fixed with a new battery.

Old battery voltage was good, charging voltage fine but the occasional starting issues eventually stopped me starting the bike at all.

New battery and no issues since.
So hopefully the dealership can correct the odometer.

Took 15 minutes at the dealership. No need for a code from Ducati. They just synced clocks back up with the ECU.

No more issues since the fresh battery.

recommend buying a new battery. They seem to die after 3-5 years in the Scrambler, no matter how it’s looked after.

My battery shower correct voltages but kept having issues, a fresh new battery solved all my problems.

it seems the clocks are very sensitive to a dodgy battery.

If you’ve changed the clocks, expect to keep having issues. The clocks and the ECU are coded together, you need the special code from Italy to sync them together, I had to do that when I had clocks replaced on a previous Scrambler.

Keeping this ancient link alive with my first post! Which dealer did you take it to? I rang one in Sheffield and they just told me the clocks need replacing, obviously I wont be going there with mine
