I've seen a lot of recommendations for cutting the spacer in the forks which makes them perform better. I have no doubt that this will help improve them. My question is that if I cut them and then decide to do an OHLINS Fork Spring kit or Andreani kit in the future, will they work with the shortened spacer? A new gas tank is $1800, a headlight is $500, knowing Ducati a new spacer is probably in the $500 - $1000 range. I want to buy as few OEM parts as necessary. Of course I could always get a 2nd mortgage.

The Andreani kit doesn't use any of the OEM fork internals so don't worry about the spacers. They are listed on the Star Twin website at only €6.77, only about $5. So not a big deal if you wanted to replace them.

why just adjust F/R suspension?, I did it and bike handling really improved.
just follow Dave recommendations.

Because Dave is talking about adjusting the geometry of the suspension for handling purposes, and what Chester is asking is about effectively adjusting preload on the front forks for comfort reasons.
