I didn't realise you have to remove the whole casting to fit the cartridges. Doesn't mention that in the instructions, only how to remove the cartridge. I presume you have now managed to remove the screw holding the cartridge in.

It was the screw (grub screw) holding the casting to the tube I had a problem with, I had to drill it out,

Once that's done it's a simple job to remove the tube with my new tool, Fit the cartridge and re tighten with the tool, :)

Hi Scramblers just an update on the removal of the screw 5M worm screw that sits in the stub off the fork Leg.
I saw a video that said you had to use a 3 mm drill bit to drill out the 5M Worm Screw.
So I tried this new approach.
I took a 3 mm hex/allen nut and gently tapped it into the 5M worm screw.
Then I took my drill and with some very careful attempts it worked.

Have a look at this video.

Sorry to revive an old post, but am in the process of changing my inner fork tubes due to rust and pitting, just getting my head round removing the inners from the bottom stub.
I can remove the worm screw and unscrew the tube, but i wanted to ask do i replace the 5m screw with a new one?
Also, do you use glue for the new tube?

Cheers
