I have been trying to get a fuel filter for the scrambler. Ducati don't list a part number for filter or seals and dealer said it will be about a month before they can order one from Ducati once a part number is issued.

Anyone out there know of an alternative supplier. Out of curiosity looked at service schedules and no service includes replacing fuel filter. I wonder now if one is fitted. Any information appreciated.

Hi Derek, noticed early in bikes life that the drain around the fuel filler cap was blocked and the water drained into the fuel tank when the cap was opened. No way of testing seal round cap to fuel so guess water and cleaning products could have got into fuel. I expect pure water to go through a fuel filter but the lime and other chemicals can sometimes block or break down the filter material.
Just want to change the filter for my own peace of mind.

At first service dealer sorted out problem by replacing rubber gasket between tank and cap assembly that was blocking the hole. Warranty work completed.

I tried to order a filter so I could drain tank, clean and replace filter without success so now looking for alternative supplier, just want to do a proper job to my own standards.

If Ducati don't list it as a part and it's not mentioned in service schedule do we assume it is designed to last the life of the bike?

Thanks for the info Derek, just wanted a filter before I take it apart to reduce down time as I've reduced the stable of bikes and only the scrambler is on the road at the moment.

Supplying dealer said when they hear from Ducati with part number they will contact me. That's their version of customer care, ask Ducati and wait.
Not the way I would run a business but they are happy with this type of service.

My suspicion is the filter will become available about two years after the bike was released. May need a new tank, pump and filter just after the warranty runs out because of the water and crud eating out the bottom of the metal tank.

When I get round to stripping it down will let you know spec of original filter and seals. Steve
