I needed more comfort for a recent 8 hour ride. This worked perfect fo about 6 hours:

I do need to find a more comfortable seat to swap on for long rides. The FT seat is fine for about 2 hours, but then I find myself wanting to get off. I'm really torn between the mustang seat and the Ducati comfort seat. Anyone around 6ft tall have experience with either?

I had mine done at a local area Upholstery business in Australia I sure you could find a local place that recovers bike seats in your local area ( all those other places like coban seats etc are very expensive and by all of read from buyers most are not that happy with the results ) on the other hand if you get it done by a local place they can tailor it to suit you and not put the cover on until your satisfied with the results, I could now sit on my seat for easy 400-500kms if the fuel range would go that far , I agree the standard seats a very hard the seat mod was the best I have done !

Hmmm lots to think about. I've considered having an upholsterer modify the seat, but I really like the way the FT seat holds me in place for short rides around town. I have thought about buying a used Icon seat and modifying it. Tiger68, do you know what was changed in your factory seat to make it more comfortable?

The airhawk cushions are tempting to try. I honestly couldn't believe what a difference the foam piece made, so I would think the airhawk would be even better.

I have an airhawk seat cushion, they really are not that good and can move around abit in the twistie road seconds , You can get an upholster to make the seat just the way you want it and shape design etc even a different cover as I done ( a non slip cover ) I have had both my bikes done a Triumph 1050 sport and my Scrambler Urban Enduro I couldn't be happier with the look and comfort of both !

I am 6'3" and was very uncomfortable on the stock Icon seat.

It forced me into the tank and if I tried to slide back I was on the transistion to the passenger section which roatated my lower back and cause pain after long rides.

I cannot say enough about the seat concepts kit.

It makes the seat flatter and gives you room to move around. The foam is also much more dense but molds to your body.

I used their foam installed under my stock seat cover and it looks great to me.

Highly recommended.

My tyres as well " great grip very poor wear " I'm replacing with MT60 Scouts ( some people reckon they have got close to 20,000 kms )

That would be nice !
Mate, I think you mean Heidenau K60 Scouts. I'm about to change to Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2s, and have decided to try 100/90 on the front - my dealer reckons it shouldn't be a problem on the 3" rim, and I'm game.

That is a very clever solution!
