Is it just me but aren't the grips too hard and uncomfy? Has anyone tried changing or upgrading them?

I thought the factory grips were awful; I believe a grip swap was my first mod. Use the search box in the top right corner and you'll get a ton of hits.

yep, the stock grips are not comfy.

lots of aftermarket grips available for under $20.

These are Biltwells, quite easy on the hands and simple to install.

I use these, they're inexpensive, soft on the hand, and absorb the vibes.
They also last surprisingly well considering how soft they are. Buy them a few sets at a time and keep a few spare sets in the workshop.
They fit the scrambler really well.
I cut the flange off the original grips and keep them on the bike to seal the inside end of the grips, bars, and throttle mechanism.

same texture and feel as Grip Puppies and Pussy Grips but without the oversizing and expense.
