Heated Grips for your Scrambler

4961 Views 19 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  ELVISTO
The original heated grips for the scrambler will be available in June :(

I've posted this a few times in the last month, This is what my dealer (Woods of Abergle ) told me when I ordered my bike on the 4th March,

There's been a bit of confusion recently with a dealer in Wolverhampton advertising them on E Bay , I rang them earlier, They don't have any and don't know when they will, The add is for pre ordering, Their words not mine,

Sooooo boys and girls that's the lowdown

Just in time for summer. Being Ducati, they'll be in short supply, and then the factory will close for the entire month of August for summer holidays, so best order now if you want them in time for next winter. [happy]

(Meanwhile, the Symtec grip heaters on my wife's Icon are working great.)
I've got mine on order together with the belly pan, cross bar, and headlight grill ensemble. And they're all paid for now!

Just waiting for them all to come in so the dealer can fit everything for me :)
As per Scramblizer, the Oxford touring grips are going on mine.

£50 oxford heated grips
£180 Ducati heated grips

Easy decision in my book!

Ordered DP prob Sept delivery had a good deal :angel8:
I've been told August for mine. Do I believe it? Not a jot :)
Oxford Grips self- installed in 2 hours on my UE. Work fine for £59.
I ordered the ducati scrambler $270 grips in late june, they arrived 3 weeks ago (mid august). I installed them myself 2 weeks ago, not very difficult. Although, I have yet to feel their warmth since my local dealer has no idea how to activate them. We plugged it in to the ducati computer and theres even a list of activations but heated grips are not on there. They called me mid week to tell me they are still trying to figure it out directly with ducati in italy. The bikemaster ones on ebay for $60 dont look so bad at this point.
Don't know why they should have any problems Spikey, They work just the same as the multi strada and the Hyper Strada,
My dealers collecting my bike this coming week to fit mine,
Really enjoying having heated grips for the first time in 12 years of riding :)
Think I'd have to stop riding in the winter if I didn't have them, :D

And the latest I've been told is mid September. Id like them to be fitted before the 27th September as that's when I'm doing the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride.
I just got mine today! any idea where i can get fitting instructions?

I'm interested too, the bracket provided has to be modified to install the controller to the left mirror.

On another note, how safe is the "battery saving" feature of the new controller? Does it really turn off the unit? I'm having second thoughts about connecting it directly to the battery as it would be always hot
mine were fitted yesterday, better late than never, awesome
