i have had my classic since june and have changed to the "comfort seat".... i am 6' 2" and the seat change allows me to move as needed on the seat.... the original seat did not allow much movement... with this simple modification the comfort and fit are awesome... enjoy the ride....

Welcome BYH
I am 6'2" if I stand up straight. The only height related issue I had was the saddle. With our height, the raised portion on the underside of the seat pan to accommodate the tool kit ends up right under your sit bones. I ended up purchasing the comfort seat in the hopes that this problem would be eradicated, but the seat pan is identical. I ended up modding the seat pan, which I wrote about here, Scrambler Comfort Seat arrived . I wish I had done this on the original seat pan and saved the ~$270 I spent on the Comfort Seat. I have a feeling this mod on the original pan would have been just the ticket. I have zero issues with my seat or otherwise after doing this. I have put another 1500 "Land of Joy" miles on the seat since modding it. YMMV

I'm 6' 1" and also opted for the comfort seat. It seems slightly taller, but the main gain as you said, is that you can scoot to wherever your arse needs to go. The stock seat kind of locks in you in up close to the tank which was not ideal.

Im 5,3 . Still not sat on it but I wonder if I will need the lower seat or not... Does anybody near my heigh tried?
I'm 5 ft, and I have the lowered seat. When I get on the bike, I'm on the balls of my feet - not tiptoeing though. My best friend is about your height and with the lowered seat, she was comfortable flat-footing my bike with some knee bending. I hope that helps.
