Hugger for a Scrambler

Now don't shoot me for
1) Suggesting a Scrambler should have one.
2) For trying to see if one would fit
3) For having a couple laying around.

So I saw a comment months ago whilst we were drooling, contemplating how it would be etc ( and yes some still are :D:( but it was questioned whether one could put one on it.
Well as you do have a couple of Monster ones laying around in your garage loft that no-one will give you a fiver for I kept them for when someone is desperate. My old s4 one and a 696 one my mate gave me as he emigrated to Australia and didn't want to take all the OEM stuff.
So tonight I tried the 696 1st as its shorter and thinner ( lighter) and more minimalist. This is what it looks like just layed on and one of the holes lines up with the brake pipe cable mount. The other side would need drilling and tapping on the arm but plenty of room to do so. The front should be the same too. Now the only thing different is the chain guard cover goes at a steeper angle up but I would cut that off and blend it if I tried.

So please voice your opinion and just letting you know it could be an option you would like to try as plenty of 696 huggers on ebay and carbon fibre if you desire too.

Doesn't look too bad actually. Might save the under tray a bit too.

I just saw a spare 696 swingarm at my mates and its a similar shape up top but beefy underneath. It just got me thinking. Whether or not go further is the question.

Been there done that. Lol

With an Monster s4.
That looks great especially if you have a tail tidy fitted.
Well, That looks great Albie, I was waiting for someone to bring one out, :)

I did ask Mike at Sports Touring to keep me posted regarding whether Ilmberger would be bringing one out any time soon, I'll give him another call today,
Have you done anymore fitting on this one Albie :)
cool, but will drastically reduce "unpaved roads" skill

No not as yet. May trim that chainguard off this week though to make it fit good. It will then only need a tapped hole in swingarm. It will be more of a winter thing IF fitted.
OK, Thanks Albie, If you know the make and model it's off I'll send off for one, (696/ 796 are they the same)

I notice on your first pic it didn't look central to the tyre but on the third pic it did, Does it all fit ok, no probs drilling another hole and modding chain guard,
