Anyway, I haven't had her for more than twenty-four hours and I've already started tearing her down.

I wanted to install Full Throttle bars but don't have the prerequisite 28 mm mounts, but I did have lying around a Lucas aluminum 22 mm flat track bar. Picture below:

My questions to the forum are:
  1. Is a 22 mm aluminum going to be adequately strong, compared to a 28 mm fat bar or the original 22 mm steel bar?
  2. What problems could occur using this bar?
  3. Upgrade the mounting system to accept 28 mm bars then install the FT bar?
  4. Should I stop what I'm doing, reinstall the original bar and go ride?

Had 'em on, drilled the holes perfectly, but DAMN the cables are so long...

I finally went with Option 4: Reinstalled the original bars, but with bar-end mirrors. Now it's time to ride.

I return to the bars when I have everything in place for a fat bar.

The Full Throttle Bars come with a kit inclusive all mounts necessary, so I would go back to your dealer and ask him where they are!!

Ah, I didn't know that the Full Throttle kit included the mounts. That's why I didn't buy the FT bars; I thought I would have to buy the mounts separately. I will ask my dealer about the cost to upgrade.

In the meantime, I ordered a Tomaselli MX bar from Germany; I'll go the whole retro scrambler with it and the accompanying rubber grips.

Pics soon.
