For sure...Always thought that lil fairing would do more harm than good and redirect air to the wrong place. I guess it depends on the riders height
Just agree with you. In a certain way you need to feel the nature, at least I like it. It is raw in a certain way. Love the bike.Hey everyone remember, it is a naked bike. Turbulence are part of what comes with a naked bike. Those little fairings are all show and flash and do very little in the way of deflecting the air off of the rider.
My biggest issue are the mirrors--they clank against the metal if you make a harder turn. I am seriously considering reversing the mirrors so they come up rather than down and I do not potentially scratch up the tank sides. Also replacing the shocks and forks with ohlins--the bike is just too soft.
It definitely does nothing at deflecting air off the rider. I can ride my II at 70 MPH and hold my hand at the edge of the fairing and the amount of that leads to my upper chest area is much more noticeable when I tried the same on my Classic. On the Classic the air is not forced over the exiting edge of the fairing, just around the headlight.Hey everyone remember, it is a naked bike. Turbulence are part of what comes with a naked bike. Ditch the Duc accessory and fit a Dart or Puig flyscreen. My Dart really works at speeds well in excess of 70 mph.:biggrin:I put 130 miles on my II yesterday and noticed a tremendous amount of turbulence at my shoulder area and below my helmet when riding more than 60 MPH.. I believe it is caused by the small fairing that surrounds the headlight. I have a Classic also and rode it immediately after getting off the II when I got home and did not get the same sensation.
Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this?

Other than that, the II performed as expected. I was also quite pleased with the seat, no sore tail bone.
I will try that this weekend, thanks! You can loosen the set screw in the end of the bar and reposition them slightly forward to clear the tank.
Mine were up when it was delivered, I moved them to down position and have gotten use to the view but had to make sure they cleared the tank.
You can also rotate the mirror heads 180 degrees, they sit a little higher then and are much better. No banging into the tank and not too bad for vision behind. My biggest issue are the mirrors--they clank against the metal if you make a harder turn.
