After waiting for 3 months, then a 2 hour flight, a quick introduction to my new baby then a 1000 klm round trip and back to the shop for the first service, at last my decision was correct, I love this Scrambler...
Then I sadly flew back home, and waited patiently for the dealer to call me to say the service was complete and Pearl was packed in her crate and on its way to Tromsø, Northern Norway.
Today was the first day where enough snow had melted for me to actually get out and enjoy some of this magical country. Unfortunately I also found out how harsh the suspension is, the roads up here are quite bad through ice lift, but still, 150 klm later and I had had enough, time to start saving and get some new suspension on..Whats the opinion of the people on here regarding suspension upgrading?

Did you buy the bike at Eker? It was on display this spring, with a "Sold" sticker. This bike is going to be worth a lot of money in a few years time, I recommend you not to crash it.

Clocked 5700 km on my Icon with standard suspension last autumn, parked the bike for winter mid-october and my tailbone hurt for most of november - the roads down south aren't much better. Considered just upgrading the rear but after reading the forums I decided to switch both, no regrets. Ohlins and Andreani will cost you about 20.000 NKR if you let the dealership do it all.. totally worth it.

Hi Damnation.
Yes, I bought it from Eker, apparently the only one in Norway too :) I put an Ohlins on the rear and it made a huge difference. I don't mind the front, but like you said, the reviews of the Andreani are great.
In Tromsø there are no dealers even remotely close by, so in winter I´ll take the forks out myself and get them sent to Eker for the upgrade. Im also about to fit Akropovik pipes too, just waiting to get the y-pipe back from the ceramic coating shop.
Luckily Im keeping all the standard parts wrapped up in my workshop in case for some reason I need to sell it, some people believe changing a limited edition bike should not be done, but the difference just by changing the rear shock is amazing..

Theres still an II bike for sale in Trondheim, and I saw one on the road near Oslo in june, I suppose it wasn't yours. But it does sounds like Eker sales pitch, I have caught them outright lying to me twice, and I have spoken to others with the same experience.. I recommend you do your own research and make up your mind before you ask any advice from them.

Dont get me wrong, they do a great job and I'm a returning customer but if they contradict you on something you have learned elsewhere, dont trust it.

When I first bought the bike it was the only one privately ordered, as when Eker contacted Ducati, they said no other bikes had been customer ordered at this time.
Eker was by far the best in customer service, from the initial order and after sales. They gave me a fantastic deal, where as the other two places didn't seem to care at all, which I found strange?
A small issue for me is living in Tromsø where the closest dealer is Trondheim. I had a front brake fading issue, first service they bled it, but it´s happened only once since then and speaking to them about it, they said if it happened again, they would send me a new master cylinder and I would have to fit it myself? Now that to me isn't a great warranty procedure! If it did come down to it, I decided that I would take it into another brand dealer and send Eker the bill..
I still haven't seen another I.I. on the road but would love to see one and hear what they think about their new baby :)
