I'd been shopping all over for pegs, turns out we had these in a box of leftover KLR parts. They went right on the bike with very little work:

They wanted to droop just a bit, so we glued a shim to the face of the mounting bracket; Doug cut a piece of steel for me to use, but you could likely position a washer to work just as well:

I used a nut to take up the slop and keep there pegs where I wanted:

All went together without a hitch:



I'm not convinced I'll need the spring, as the pegs flip up and back down without binding either way. I haven't had a chance to ride yet, but sitting on the bike they feel just right. These should be cheap and plentiful on the used market if anybody wants to give them a try.
