yes, you can take it off without removing the shock. Easy peasy!

I'm going for black. I like that 'everything' below the tank and seat line is black. I think it may be gilding the lily with a white spring. Personal opinion unall that.

Exactly my thoughts about the tank/seat line. I’m leaning about 70% towards black.

I´d go with white.

Under seat and tank everything is black, a black spring, I don´t know, would be boring?
Set a note there with the white spring, I would.

I just love the yellow but if I must choose, white would be better. Side mounted shock is a gorgeous element. Why hide it?

I was undecided between black or white for a long time and actually held a white spring I still had laying around from another bike next to the Sled. It's more the theme of the bike I'm looking at than the spring/shock standing out.

I dropped it off this morning, black it's going to be.

Just to clarify, you removed the lower mounting point so the entire shock assembly could swivel, used a spring compressor to remove the perch, and then slid the spring off the shock, correct? I was a little misled when you said you could do it without removing the shock, and was like. . . how is that even possible lol

Yes you’re right. Just remove lower bolt and use spring compressors to free up space to flip the retainer collar out.
