I've been searching for ways to convert the headlight to a brighter LED and there doesn't seem to be much on the forums regarding this. I know that MOTODEMIC makes a full headlight kit (Ducati Scrambler LED Headlight Conversion • MOTODEMIC) but that price is pretty high. Maybe later down the road.

Anyone else do something like fitting an LED module into the stock headlight housing? Or better, has anyone found H4 style bulbs that fit inside the housing without having to cut a hole in the house/leave the housing off?

Hello

From a past experience on a rally bike, adapting HID bulb to a H4 headlight gives only a little improvment for a bigger price and sometimes a more complex mounting. The HID bulbs are longer than usual H4 bulbs, it's difficult to host them in the headlight case. You need also to find a location for the ballast, not too far from the headlight.

And, the light source is often not well positioned in regards of the headlight Mirror, designed for normal H4 bulb. This gives a badly shaped light beam. You mean even get a dangerous beam for drivers coming in front of you.

I'm pretty sure it would be the same with a LED bulb.

I Use the HID 55 watt upgrades on vehicles which are better than the older 35watt HIDs, I have had in the past, they work very well, but thinking about the far smaller size of the motorbike headlight, the extra size of the HID bulb may well mess about with the beam pattern, the last thing I want to happen is to dazzle oncoming vehicles, as they would high beam me back. Would be interesting if anyone has done this upgrade and can report its successful, as I know stock headlights are terrible.
