So, I ordered a Mad Hornets Fly Windscreen.
Maaaay have been a huge mistake.

Fly Wind Screen Windshield Ducati MONSTER Hypermotard Streetfighter Scrambler Diavel 659 696 795 796 1100 1100S (See Yrs) Black

The build quality seems fine but I seen no GD way this can possibly fit the Scrambler given the off center gauge cluster.

Tried contacting support and they basically said "Take it to a professional shop.". . . now... I'm not a "professional" but I have been working on my own bikes for about 20 years now and a simple fly screen isn't exactly an engine rebuild.

Does anyone else have this screen and can tell me what I'm not seeing about this install?

Also... Don't think I would ever recommend getting anything from Mad Hornets after that.

Cheers.

To be fair to Mad Hornets, the description on the fly screen does not list the Scrambler as a bike it will fit.

Yes it's a bit of a sh*tty response from them if that is really what they said, but you did buy the screen at risk.

As for making it fit? Would it not be possible to space the screen put so that it clears the gauge? Or even shape it with a Dremel so it fits snug around the gauge?

If you look at the Looooooong description of the product it does list the Scrambler. It's after Streetfighter and before Diavel.

You're right it does say that.

But ....

Much like an eBay ad etc .... They tend to include a whole myriad of other bike names, models and such in the header title to draw the unwary in, the also helps them get traffic ando potential sales when people Google 'Ducati Scrambler Screen'.

But if you read the actual product description you will see the shoooort list of bikes it actually fits.

Fitment Ducati
Monster 696 (all series) All Years
Monster 795 / 796 (all series) All Years
Monster 1100 / 1100S / 1100EVO All Years
Monster 659 / 795 (all series) All Years

You could contact them and try the 'False Advertising' card seeing as though they do mention bikes in the header that the screen won't fit.

But I would expect them to counteract that by making reference to the 'What you see is what you get' portion in the product description, along with the line 'Highly Recommended Fitting by a Professional'
In other words 'You pays your money, You takes your chances'

A bit shady on their behalf tbh.

It states Scrambler twice on there sales page. Send it back and tell them it's wrongly advertised.
A professional what ? Kin magician.

I think I'll just have to mark this one up to a case of caveat emptor. . . .and put Mad Hornets on my "Do Not Buy" vendor list.
Live and learn.
Tell them that - they may at least give you a credit note. I also find with some shops the boys and girls behind the counter / dealing with your issue aren't always tied rigidly to 'company policy'. I've had a couple of really helpful staff work wonders for me over the years.

You'll pay return shipping plus "at least 30% restocking fee" so I'd probably stash it away on a shelf, too. If you ever decide to relocate the gauge, you'll have your screen.
