I did not completely remove the tank, (it would have been easier to but did not have the tool required to take the hose clips off) I just removed the bolts and the front breather hoses to lift it up a bit more. As a rule the whole air box should come out to cut the holes in the side of it but I ended up undoing everything to allow the air box to move but did not lift it off the rubber inlet port. I used my Dremel tool with the plastic cutter and a right angle head to cut the holes from the inside and it worked fine but just make sure if you do it this way to not cut through any wires etc! I will post some pics.

There is no need for specific tool to remove the hose clips.

You just have to push strongly on the circular knob around the hose and it comes out. Of course, you need to have 4 hands to do so : 2 who hold the tank up and 1 pushing on the know, the last one pulling on the hose.

So got my kit, installed it, yet to ride - big storm yesterday/last night as I finished and needed the car for work today.
Did the same thing of not fully removing the Airbox. Cut up a cake tin the wife had lying around to slide between airbox and frame/wires etc when using the dremel - quite easy really. Started and sounds great - just hanging to get it out for a ride now.

Shmakt - sorry to hear that. I often have a nervous wait on what surprises may come in the mail a couple of days after a spirited ride. So far not too bad but not perfect. :adoration:

I am just down the road from you on the Goldie. Do you mind me asking where you got done?

Cheers

I live in The Gap, back onto Mt Nebo road, so I'm always heading up there on weekends, and see them all the time, just had a brain snap this day - I think I was just enjoying the ride too much. Got done just this side of Mt Nebo, on the way up to Mt Glorious
I think I was baited a little. Car was going really slow through the bends, then at the over taking lane he sped up to the speed limit, I went around and slowed up straight away, but he got me for speeding while over taking. oh well, lesson learned.

Baited a little?
So that road hasn't changed....or the quota fillers that patrol it. Samford side became a joke - 60 zone (km/h for you Yanks) with double lines all the way. If you were seen behind a car at the bottom and arrived in front at the top you got nicked...even if the motorist pulled over to let you pass.
Only go up there once in a blue moon now.
As for all the pushbikes...

Like we care.... but did power upgrade affect fuel economy much ?.I get 5L per 100k no matter how I ride it ,dirt ,twisties thrash etc .Still loving this bike and its capabilities in the dirt around Tazzie never cease to amaze me :02.47-tranquillity:

only been out twice since fitting the kit and no haven't noticed any change in fuel economy worth talking notice of.
(mainly due to carpal tunnel in throttle wrist - pins and needles constantly, makes it hard to hang on after about 10 mins)
I average between 4.5 and 5 depending on what I'm doing.
I really don't care anymore and have stopped tracking usage - just enjoying the ride
