New scrambler owner...but worried about some rust!

Hey guys,

I'm finally an owner of a new (to me) Scrambler Icon. I couldn't have asked for a cooler bike with all the mods it has on it already! But one thing is freaking me out, and that's rust on one of the engine nut/bolts. I don't get why it's rusted if the previous owner had this bike super ultra clean and stored.

should i be worried? it's a 2015 with 8k miles if that makes any difference.

thanks!

One only? Could someone have leaked something on it?

How much time do you think replacing it would take?

the nut should be easy, but the bolt is rusty and so is the tread on it. don't know man, engine removal?
here you go, one of the only visible ones.

Ah!! Exhaust. They all do that one day or the other afaik.

(Which reminds me, I should remove mine, add a dab of copaslip and reinstall)

So it's exhaust? No big deal then ?
That's too easy, because (especially over time) it can become a big deal. However, these bolts and studs get hot and that's why they rust.

i would replace them with copper exhaust nuts and add a nice dab of copper grease on the threads before and after mounting them.

Come to think of it, aren't the stock nuts copper already?
Just had a service (15000 miles), had all my manifold studs replaced for a small charge as they were similarly corroded.

Hown much did the service cost ?

It was a biggy! About £750. Included a front tyre (MPR3) and the studs. Heart breaker.
