I had a Termignoni fitted yesterday and my fist service and have a couple of questions.

1. Did any of you guys notice a very fast high pitch (maybe metallic) ticking type sound when on the gas? Hard to describe but definitely wasn't there before. I can't figure where it's coming from. Soon as I let of the gas it goes?

2. When I was looking around the exhaust when the engine was running I notice some escaping exhaust gas coming from here (see pic). Only a little bit, but should this be the case? Do you have a little gas escape and should this do any harm? On a car you have a sealed gasket and escaping air is a no no.

3. Last - I assume you all have the whistle with the baffle in right?

I don't have the termi but

I believe the answers are
1. The springs vibrating against the pipe - fit a thin piece of rubber behind them and see if that cures it - you can buy springs that are rubber coated - or put heat shrink around them then as a permanent fix.
2. No - it should not leak - but it should be fine - normally should settle
3. Yes they all whistle - pull the baffle - remove the pin and refit the baffle - problem solved.

I have a Termi, maybe the following:
1. Resonator problem (mine has one) a weld breaks and makes a mechanical metallic noise, you can hear it more with the baffle out, I'm just about to have mine replaced under warranty. But I can only really hear mine on tickover.
2. Mine doesn't leak so no it shouldn't.
3. I like the whistle! Remember if you remove the pin the baffle might be hard to remove (I use a spring puller on the pin).

Top exhaust, don't let the small issues put you off, the race ecu and exhaust really help bring out the best of the engine, I've just come back from a 6 hour ride (including coffee and lunch ) with the wife on the back and the scrambler ran superb and defo better than a std one.

Thx. Can you describe the whistle? With the baffle in my seems a cross between a chirp/whistle and rattle when you first get on the gas. Living the Race map. Night and day with the throttle response at low speed.

Hi Guys
I have the Italia Limited scrambler, but it seems to perform different to the one I took out for the test ride, on test I had the classic & the throttle response was quite fierce, so I had to be care full when getting on the gas especially in the low gears, but the Italia dose not do the same , I don't know whether its the map or gearing that's different, don't get me wrong it goes like stink, but in 2nd gear at very low speed following traffic it can be lumpy as though the gear is too high, so I go down into 1st gear but then it seems as though I should go up again, very different to the classic.
has anyone experienced the same ?

The other thing is I have tried out the battery charger the one that you get with the Duke just to see how it performs on charge, but even after a long run on the bike if I put the charger it still takes 24 hours for the green light to come on...:rolleyes-84:

Finaly Has anyone removed the cat from the exhaust

Cheers
The Duke

WELL THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE REPLIES...
