next week Ohlins for my Urban Enduro

I've just agreed with one friend of mine (I sold my Harley to him) he will change my sunspension.

He works for Italian Distributor for Ohlins and he will use my Scrambler as model for new products setup... it means that 99% next fri. April 10, my Urban Enduro could be fully Ohlins (World Premiere):cool::cool:

we expect to place front inner cartridge which includes two springs, compressione and rebound adjustment. on the rear, the entire mon will be replaced, still don't know how they will handle the total lenght of the ammo, anyway I'm expecting a spring on my weight basis and at least an hydraulic adjustment.
I. Can't. Wait. I want to hear how Ohlins are going to change the ride of these guys!

this is for "C" compression, on the other side there is "R" rebound, on both working on the gold hexagon, spring preload. rear mono on June

Somebody somewhere suggested having different functions for each leg may not be the best idea.
I reckon it's the way to go and I'm sure Ohlins know what they're doing.
I think for this kind of bike/use this will be absolutely enough. 95% of users can not use them in correct combos.

anyway I'm still suffering with rear mono..... that I think is too hard and quick on rebound.... (I'm jumping from the saddle every little bump....)

Hello Francesco,

For some reason, am unable to view the photo.
go to my galleries, the link is on signature, browse for moto---->scrambler and you'll find the picture.

Francesco,

Have you done anything with the rear shock absorber yet?
not yet.... waiting for a call from Andreani, about rear shock availability
anything further on this?

i see Andreani have the shock listed as available on their website
Yeah, they have that listed as available for weeks now but afaik it is not until mid August, got it on backorder for weeks now...The Winding Roads On-Line Shop One Step Checkout Winding Roads Ltd Looks very reasonable as an alternative maybe...?
Thanks for that, yeah the M Shock looks good, I emailed them directly at Shock Factory a week ago, no reply.

Just got a response from Omnia Racing where I ordered an Ohlins 7 weeks ago, "I arrive 10/14 business days, ohlins delay on this items".

If that's accurate then I guess it's late July, if the standard shock wasn't so terrible it wouldn't be so frustrating.
Yes, the standard suspension is crappy. Already converted the front end to Andreani/Öhlins and it really made a huge difference. I just returned from a 3.000km round trip to the Dolomites and it really was a blast thanks to the smoother front end...
Anyway, what I find superior over the Öhlins shock is a.) that the sping is chosen and the shock setup to your individual needs like riders weight and if you want it for solo or pillion and b.) for the Looks - this one w/ the optional black spring would to me be far more attractive than the Öhlins silver body / yellow spring on the Urban Enduro... Tec Specs look promising, too: Technical Spec

Maybe I sleep it over and then cancel the Öhlins and add the SW-Motech Adjustable Foot Rest Kit to the order, pricewise about the same for shock and pegs as compared to just the Öhlins shock (excl. shipping)... ;-)
For my Ohlins order I was asked weight details, rider, pillion, luggage, riding style, the usual detail required to set the shock and spring up for the individual rider, I'm hoping it's setup.
I agree on the colour for the UE, the Ohlins will be ok on my yellow icon I think.
There are a couple of people on here who are very happy with the cartridges, I may get a pair after I get the shock sorted.

I've fitted a pair of the SW Motech footpegs, the issue they've created for me is that they've reduced the space between peg and gear lever and it's awkward to go up a gear. When I first got the bike I lifted the gear lever one tooth on the spline, I'm going to do that again to see if it helps. I have size 12 or 13 feet depending upon which country the shoes come from.
They're a great peg, very well made, they've just created a less than ideal situation.

Odd - I were not asked any details for seting up the Öhlins and to me it appears as if they will be sold right off the shelf setup for "the average Joe", whatever they have on their mind the average Joe is... ;-) The DU 505 seems to be a springoff off their more basic budget production line STX46... According to the mounting instructions Document - hlins Racing it will be fully servicable and of course the springs can be exchanged to fit your needs. Regarding the looks it will surely fit the yellow Icon very well!

Anyway, feeling more comfortable with the customized solution and supporting a symphatic startup I just canceled my Öhlins order and special ordered the M-Shock with a black spring. Hopefully they get it right, will keep you posted!

About the pegs: Great feedback Smifff! I recently ordered them and will have a close look @ the issues you mentioned! Have a size 9.5 (43) foot, so maybe I get away with it... What attracted me was the ability to lower or raise them and that you have a much wider, rubberized area to put your foot on - I get up from the seat on long trips or gravel quite often and felt uncomfy on the tiny foot - "pins"... ;-)
