I've just agreed with one friend of mine (I sold my Harley to him) he will change my sunspension.

He works for Italian Distributor for Ohlins and he will use my Scrambler as model for new products setup... it means that 99% next fri. April 10, my Urban Enduro could be fully Ohlins (World Premiere):cool::cool:

Scramblizer, I watched the Ducati Techs set up a suspension for sag on a Panigale R when I was at the shop a few weeks ago. I saw (and filmed) the whole process for a video that I will produce in the coming weeks. They are probably tuning Smifff's suspension for him as a service. If you ordered them, as opposed to bought them from a shop, they will not be able to set sag on the shocks off of the bike. This might be the difference.

had only 40 miles, but the bike is now smoother and more confortable on bumpy roads. looks to be abt 1cm taller at middle preload setup.
How was fitment in both of the mounting points? I noticed that the DU505 shock is machined with an offset up top and bottom.
the oem mono uses a "washer" on bottom mounting point, you need to take it out first to take the oem mono off. the Ohlins has that offset already but they saved abt 1mm clearance to allow mounting/removing the mono easly

Odd - I were not asked any details for seting up the Öhlins and to me it appears as if they will be sold right off the shelf setup for "the average Joe", whatever they have on their mind the average Joe is... ;-) The DU 505 seems to be a springoff off their more basic budget production line STX46...
I received my Ohlins shock this week, I ordered through Omnia Racing, they have put a heavier spring on due to the info provided. Standard "off the shelf" is 110nm mine has a 120nm fitted.
Smifff, so what info did you give them? What weight did you tell them?

SMIFF (Greg) - do you want to sell the Ohlins to me (please).
Regards - Ray.

Ray,

Give me a week or two and I'll let you know, I'm a bit early in my shock trial stage.

The m shock is so good I can feel a case of the "can't be f#cked's" coming on regarding taking the 20 minutes it takes to swap them. It's hard to see the Ohlins being much better.

Greg - thanks for the reply - I understand you need to sus them all out - if it ends up being surplus could you let me know.
I replied to a post by SBKEN when he announced he had received Ohlins in stock. I asked him about the Ohlins saying they only have adjustment for Rebound - I wanted to understand if that's just Ohlins way of saying its a common adjuster for rebound and compression like the Mshock and Nitron - or it really is "less" adjustable than the others.
I haven't received a reply from him or anybody else - must be too hard a question - I think it was on the other forum - I get confused between the two forums because it seems all of us are on both -maybe its a seniors moment. Anyhow - its good to know your new shock is a big improvement .
Regards - Ray.
No worries Ray,

I'm pretty sure the ohlins is rebound adjustable only,

street performance line DU 505 Motorcycle hlins DTC

the picture isn't accurate though, it shows the damping adjustment as being a black wheel near the eyelet end, the adjuster is actually an allen key counter sunk into the body
