EL VISTO,

Great write up and photos, thank you, sounds like it works well, I'm envious. If they would post to Aus I'd order one today.
The colour is not ideal but I'd be a lot happier with the concern over spring colour than the concern over a poor performing shock absorber.

Would you mind telling us how much it cost?

The top mount bolt seems to stick out a bit more than the original, do you notice it when riding? I guess the trick there is to buy a button headed cap bolt.

The damage to the original eye bushing is poor, that was only going to get worse. I wonder how wide spread that's going to be.

If they won't post to OZ have it delivered to me and I'll post to you
That's a great offer, thank you, I will talk to the Oz importer today to check his price, with your VAT at 20%, I think, and our GST at only 10% just maybe the local price won't be too bad.

Your 408 GBP is roughly 800 AUD, Royal Mail are looking for about 80 GBP, so all up I've got about 960 AUD to play with as a comparison.

Either way I'll be ordering one today.

I'll let you know and thanks again

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the help.

I tried that with Nitron but got passed on to the local importer, I can't really see any way to get it without the VAT.

The 390 GBP (haven't got a pound symbol on Oz keyboard) is roughly $780, I've rung the local importer, as it turns out a very helpful fellow.
In a nutshell, he'll supply it for $885 in about two weeks, not ideal but not too bad. It's now on order.

We had a good discussion about the differences between the Nitron and Ohlins, he sells both and at a very similar in price.

Interesting regarding the fork cartridges, he's telling me about $1,500, however he can revalve and add an anti dive circuit for $520, I'll try the shock first and think a bit longer about the forks

Update,

Shock has now gone from two weeks to three and the price has gone up from original estimate due to the top mount.

I asked about the new colours, apparently they're doing the race shocks first, only change available on the R1 at the moment is a black spring, I've ordered that.

Should now be here in a couple of weeks.

OK! Perhaps they didn't make a batch of brackets when they made mine, that could be why it's 3 weeks delivery time now, ;) But believe me It's worth the wait,

Littleowl (Gill) had a test ride on my bike yesterday, we just swapped her seat over, she was impressed enough to order one yesterday when she got home,

Gill mentioned it had gone up in price:rolleyes: but you can get a black spring now:(
In all fairness Alex did ring me to explain they had decided to do other colours
Elvisto,

I'm not too unhappy, in fairness this is what happens with new things, people estimate and then have to fine tune actual availability and cost.
Still looking forward to it,

Interestingly I still have an Ohlins on order and it's currently $250 cheaper,
