Maybe Oil from your chain and road grime.

It's just lubricant working it's way out of the pivot for the lever. At least they put it together with lube as these things are often dry and go stiff after time.
Wipe it off and give it and the brake side a squirt of oil now and again. I've just removed a lever from a Diavel and it was bone dry.

Yes clean your bike vudiesel! :apple: Clean everywhere. :biggrin:
My bike accumulated grime there also.
