Got word from Seat Concepts yesterday-- they will be providing a kit for stock height and a kit to add 1 inch. They say a Low seat may not be possible due to the shape of the pan, as littleowl mentioned above. I've used these kits on a couple of bikes and have been well pleased, excellent bang for the buck in my opinion. Help is on the way!

Yes, that's what I've done; the foam and cover fit perfectly and a simple staple gun works fine with a firm hand and patience. But for an extra $20 (I think that's right) send in your pan and they'll install it for you. I've also read of local upholstery shops doing the install for just a few dollars.

C,

Both my bikes were dual sports with 2X4's for seats, so I found the SC foam to be softer, but more firmly supportive, if that makes any sense at all. Check out the website, and this giant thread on advrider:

I don't have a Scrambler yet either, but I hope to.

I just made this one.....

Filled in the dish, lowered the rider pocket a little bit and then added a bitching seat cover!!

Bundy

That looks good! High time you got here. You plan to also make a plain version? It don't have to look all bitchin for me. Now for folks who don't know --- Bundy is the Seat Concepts guy I've been talking about.

Way to go Cliff. I've ridden mostly dual-sport bikes in recent years, all with sucky seats. In my experience, the 3M spray adhesive from Walmart is just the ticket for gluing the layers of foam together, and a small palm or belt sander with coarse paper is excellent for shaping it just right. If you don't mind a bit more piddling I bet you can keep your money in your pocket. If you decide to take the seat completely apart--can we have pictures of the pan, please??! Thanks.

Earlier we'd heard Sargent had no plans for a seat, glad they've changed their tune. Looking forward to seeing what Seat Concepts has, too.

Cliff,

I still hope to see pictures of the seat pan, I'm wondering about that hump. If you cut it out, will you still have a place for the toolkit?

OK, I see what you're saying, thank you Cliff. I've had good luck with Sargent in the past, bet they'll sell a boat load. Good to know your modded seat will provide some relief while you wait.
