15 Classic, orig tyre rooted at 7000Km, we bought at 6000, thought I'd try Michy PR4 (I get twice that on my bike) ended up with PR4 TRAIL 170/60 x 17. Is going to be son's bike if he wants to keep it, dirt is his natural playground so no need for pseudo knobby, he can deal with slicks on dirt (raced motard for years).

First comment with pic
Tyre has more to offer than exhaust
Guess we're jacking up the rear shock tomorrow, anyone with other mufflers got round the clearance problem ?

Thanks, maybe not possible with our saddlebags but definitely don't want him grinding through headers, that'd get a bit loud !!!!
Think I'll work on suspension first, if we can get some ride height, that'll help but sacrificial cover might be cheaper than wearing through whichever muffler (or headers) we end up with. Didn't predict this, but obvious now I'm looking at all the aftermarket mufflers. All I'd read before was about the noise or looks, you obviously thought about this first.
PS Don't fit grippy road tyres, you will go through headers , neither of us had touched muffler down with the worn OE tyre, took less than 50 miles on rear PR4 , haven't even changed the front one yet, is PR3 , by past experience it should be ideal and last 3 + times as long as OE Pirelli
