Any motorcycle helmet consists of a rigid outer shell, impact-absorbing liner, inner padding, and some have face shields to provide safety and comfort on every ride. In this article, we will try and explain the properties of different materials that are usually used in the production of hard helmet shells. When you know all the advantages and disadvantages each of them has, you are able to make an informed decision when choosing a new helmet for safe and exciting rides on your Ducati Scrambler.

Since most helmets use Styrofoam liner as an impact-absorbing layer, we will be focusing on outer shells that could be made of ABS plastics, advanced thermoset resins, or composite materials that include fiberglass, carbon fiber, Aramid fiber (Kevlar), and others.
