Well I had a look around and browsed the workshop manual a couple of times, but still haven't come up with a name or purpose for the little plug on top of the clutch cover, just forward of the clutch release lever.

A couple of diagrams in the manual show it with the screw plug, and a couple show it with what looks like some kind of sensor in it.

Can anyone shed some light on it for me please ?

If it's the plug think it is, just forward of the clutch release lever, it's a plug blanking off what used to be a hole for the oil pressure switch on other models. On the Scrambler the oil pressure switch is mounted in the oil cooler so the hole in the casing is blanked with a screwed in plug.

Aye, thanks for that Derek, I only guessed that it may have been something to do with the oil system being close to the oil pump, but not having taken the clutch cover off as yet couldn't confirm it.

Oil pressure switch being mounted on the oil cooler explains why that port has been made obsolete.

Cheers Man.
