my Ducati Scrambler Italian independent 's exhaust header turned grey and white. Is it normal to change colour in 6 months since I bought my bike? It's a ceramic coated pipe....
I am looking for another replacement but I can't find any black low mounting system.
Should I just buy from the Ducati again? Is it supposed to be highly heat resistant which doesn't change in colour?
Or akrapovic titanium exhaust system is recommended by you guys? What colour would titanium change under high temperature? Black?copper?or rainbow?
I want to buy the zard zuma exhaust. Just that I m not sure black low mounting system and black exhaust or titanium low mounting system with sliver zard zuma exhaust would be good for my limited edition scrambler.
Thanks for your comment

Yikes, that looks awful. I would contact your dealer and see about the warranty. There really is no good reason that would happen after 6 months unless you altered it in some way.

The Akrapovic titanium headers will patina into a blue/rainbow color. Which, I agree, is not aesthetically ideal. Black Zard low with the black headers would look nice. Check what Ducati can do for you. If they can't do anything, consider taking some Autosol to the headers. I've heard mixed reports about Autosol and painted surfaces, but it's worth a try if you are thinking of throwing these away anyway.

I don't believe the stock exhaust is ceramic coated but you can ceramic coat anything you buy. It's best to have it done inside and out. Keep in mind noise. Some of the aftermarket stuff is pretty loud. I have the Akrapovic full system and yes the header will turn a rainbow color near the head but for me I don't mind the discoloration. Seeing that rainbow is the trademark of a high-end race style header. Stainless steel turns an ugly brown. With my baffles in my bike sounds really great but with them out it's annoyingly loud. You will also need to do a remap or try a booster plug to make it run right.

I live in hk and I can't find anyplace where I can do ceramic coating.. or can I do it by myself? How?
Also, how to do remap as the Ducati hk said they won't do it .. if I don't do remap, will it's performance drop or just not growing up? Coz I heard the zard exhaust is okay without doing remap

That does not look right. Talk to your dealer. You can't ceramic coat stuff yourself, it requires special hardware. As far as I understand it the catalytic converter creates the majority of back pressure so as long as you don't delete the cat you probably don't need a remap, but if you find that you do you can send your ecu to rexxer or order one of their reflash units so you can do it yourself.

Styling wise black headers and black Zard zuma are a perfect match for the Italia independent, in my opinion :) Zard offer ceramic coating on their website but I assume this means you have to ship them your header pipes.

Evil Steve is accurate on everything he said. Exhaust is personal preference so you have to choose on that one. I'm not a fan of Zard myself. If you run any aftermarket exhaust without a cat you really will have to re-map. I purchased the Rexxer user so I can do my own and change it if I choose. I have no o2 sensors. I must tell you my bike runs so much better than stock and much cooler. More power and much smoother. I'm also using a K&N filter. I can't say enough good things about Rexxer.

That's about the extent of the rainbow effect you will see.
