Running a lead under the tank

So I will want to install the Gipro gear indicator at end of week. Easiest route to me looks like I need to tilt the tank. Is it as easy as just slacking off 2 bolts at either side of tank at front and then removing the 2 black bolts at rear of tank? Should it just tip up then?

Yes, that's pretty much it, if you remove the plastic trim at the front edge of the tank by pulling straight upwards the tank will tilt a lot further. A tip would be to put a cloth between the frame and tank as when it's tilted you could scratch the paint.
Try to complete your task without removing the tank from the bike as the fuel hoses are a bitch to get out as the quick release doesn't...
Thanks Hui I will take precautions to not scratch the paint if I end up needing to lift the tank. Depending how big the plug is on the end I may not need to lift it by much
I was going to try to run an iphone cord under the tank, but instead of removing it I was just going to see if I could get lucky with a stiff cable to fish it through.

Yes you can.. on the left (non exhaust side) there is a bundled wire going to the front, just follow that :)
That's how I get my TPMS wired up

Same here, I ran a cable up the left side and tied it in p,ace either end :)
Cheers for this as looks easy enough. Locating mine beside the upper left of the speedo case
Thank you for this thread! Will do this when putting a charger cable to my GPS.
