Hey ladies and gents that already have their bikes, what kind of range and mileage are you getting out of those tanks?

I know that my Scout has seen some of the models have fuel pickup issues and running out of fuel before the fuel light came on.

That'll do, 110-120 miles, on a longer run we would be looking for a wee break about then anyway, just work in a blether and leg stretch with a re-fuel. Spot on.

Wow! I was hoping for better range per tank, like 150-160. It looks like I will be packing fuel most of the time on our long rides.

There is a reserve, but I don't know what the volume left is when the light comes on. I also wouldn't advise always running it down to the wee bit let in the tank before each fill up. It could lead to premature FI pump problems.

On my KTM Duke II I looked up the fuel tank size then I averaged out what I put in it each fill up without reserve. I then came up with 90 miles off reserve and 80 miles on reserve.

If their other newer stuff is anything to go by it won't have a separate reserve but a fuel trip appears on the dash and tells you the distance travelled since it lit up. When you fuel up it resets and disappears.
The best way then is to really get to know your bike by running it out of fuel and take note of what can be achieved with the lamp on. Or, wait for some other poor sod to do it and let everyone know on here how far he/she got.

I usually strap on a one gallon gas container and "test my range" on all my new bike purchases. Top off the tank and set a trip meter. Once you get about 15 miles into reserve ride around within a relative short distance to a fueling location. As soon as the bike sputters get off the road and shut it down. Make sure that you have exactly one gallon and put it in the tank. Then ride conservatively to the nearby station and top it off. You can then determine a good estimate for both range and how much usable fuel the tank will actually hold.

mainly country roads, between 50 to 70mph i aimed to cover 100 miles every time i rode

Shame the tank is so small, it's the one thing I'll miss from my 22 litre Guzzi - got nearly 300 miles to a tank! Still can't have everything ..
