Hi ladies and guys,
my harsh gear box makes me want to try another oil, hoping it would smoothen it out a bit.

Which oil would you recommend for that?

Thanks for any infos,
Jay

If your gearbox is harsh it is nothing to do with the oil which is more than adequate. You will have a long search.

what brand and grade you are using?, also check clutch handle adjustment.
On my first oil change I use Amsoil V Twin 20W50.
you can replace the oil/filter, but once replaced and if gearbox is still harsh after driving the bike for several miles (20-30), then take your bike to the shop.
keep us posted.

How many miles on the bike?
When was the most recent oil change?
What kind of oil are you using now?
Describe symptoms of the "harsh gear box".

Hi folks,
sometimes things don´t go that way you´ve thought of.
This now is becoming such a story.

Found out some serious crap, bike isn´t as advertised, will go back to the seller, I´m really dissapointed and angry right now.

Thanks for your help.

Well, I have to give back the used-bought Sled and want my money back.
Don´t know how this story will end, have to trade with the dealer.

Only so far:
kjs here gave a tip which I followed through and did some investigation.
Found out that the 1.000km-Inspection wasn´t made, and the same oil and filter are in the engine since the very beginning up to over 4.000km now.

Maybe the gear box is damaged so, maybe not, but the same oil runs through the engine, right?

The dealer offered me a "free inspection", that was the time today when I thought my head will explode.
Finally and after some time to cool down, I´m not willing to take that risk for any reason.

I can´t go into the details of how I found out and so on, because the Ducati world isn´t to big and I want a clean and stress-free "cash-for-bike".

Thanks for your support so far guys!
