Hello all
Please help
Stock seat is horrible, feels like I'm riding on my jewels.
Upgraded to a Flat Track seat, little help
Was thinking about a Corbin but seems a bit hard.
Anybody try the Mustang?
your thoughts.....

This is the most comfortable seat I have tried.

Products

the foam is superior than the stock in that it is dense enough to hold weight but conforms to your body.

The main problem with he stock seat for me was the angle it puts you hips and the hump that doesn't let you slide back.

The seat concepts seat has a wider sit area and lets yous scoot back a little.

I recommend looking up the threads that refer to people modifying the seat pan when installing the cover to delete to tool tray hump. This could help a lot although I didnt bother because I am relatively light weight,

Hey Thx, That seat looks like it would work well.
What did you mean about installing the cover?

You don't know "horrible" unless you've owned a Suzi Dual Sport. Compared to that my Icon's is merely somewhat unpleasant. I put a Corbin on my DR 650 about 10 years ago and it was a GREAT improvement but as you say it is on the "firm" side. After about an hour or so I'm ready for a break but I can tolerate two hours on the Corbin. On whole I find the Corbin on the DR 650 vs the stock seat on the Icon pretty similar with the Corbin being a little better. But the Corbin's score is probably helped by the MUCH more "plush" suspension of the DR 650. I've order the Ducati "Comfort Seat" and it just shipped today. So I'm cautiously optimistic.

I had my stock seat altered with a gel pad inserted and softer foam put over the top. Way cheaper than a replacement seat and way more comfortable!
I put the Suzuki "gel seat" on my TU-250X. It provided a much improved riding position over the stock seat but it is pretty much plank hard... even harder than the Corbin on my DR 650. The specific heat of the gel also seemed to be incredibly high. If I parked it in the sun for a couple of hours on a hot day, the seat became unpleasantly hot and stayed that way for over 1/2 hour when I got back on. (That problem was easily cured by putting a white towel on the seat when parked in the sun. )

My "Comfort Seat" arrived and the results were surprising. I did a two hour back road ride from Clemson SC to Asheville NC today. On the good side: the extra 1" height made the butt to pegs distance noticeably less cramped. I've only got a 28" inseam and am 5'9" but the stock Icon seat seemed too low. On the even better side: the extra padding in the seat did a SURPRISINGLY GREAT job of reducing the spine quivering impact of the Icon's "Hard tail" (even in the softest position) suspension when encountering moderately rough pavement. On the not so good side, the front of the seat is TOO NARROW just like the stock seat. It's not crippling painful like the stock seats on most Dual Sports and SMs are, but it's not comfortable either, I get the feeling it was designed by a bicycle rider for whom it WOULD be ultra plush.

After the Comfort seat didn't really get the job done, I took the advice of an Aussie apparently on another thread of this forum and took my stock seat to a local car/boat/bike upholstery shop. I asked him to make it as flat as he could on the top and as wide as the pan would allow on the front. He was able to use the stock seat cover by stitching a skirt (that you can't see) to to bottom of the front part of the stock cover. That cost me $100 US and the result was a clear improvement over the $270 comfort seat .. Its still not perfect but I'm beginning to think that part of the problem is that at 5'9" and with short arms I'm just too small for the scrambler. The rebuilt seat feels perfect if I scoot back to where the "ramp" in the stock seat used to be but then I have to bend forward a bit too far for my 1946 model human body :-(

Would it help to tilt the bars back just a bit, Mike?

Got my Seat Concepts seat today
Awesome
can breath again,lol
If you don't mind me asking,
What are your longer term impressions of the Seat Concepts product?
What were your Height and weight?
Did you have them install it or did you go another route?

I tried the Ducati Comfort seat and just didn't find it to be much of an improvement over the Stock UE seat . Of course I'm 6'2" and nearly 280.. so I'm sure that is making it more difficult.
