Well yesterday was the second day of the annual Ducati Manchester trip to Scotland:)

First thing it was lashing down so we decided to leave a little later than normal to let the rain ease up a tad. It didn't. So we left around 10.30am and decided to head east where it was supposed to be half decent.

The first hour was wet. Very wet. And cold. But we carried on :)

The route eventually took us to Arbroath via Crieff, Scone, Pitlochry,Forfar, and Montrose. The weather picked up and the roads dried up and were superb!

On the way back the group eventually split up into about four groups all heading back to Loch Lomond by different routes. I missed a turn off for Tarbet and carried on to Tyndrum where I filled up at The Welly. From there I took the Oban road and headed to Dalmally, invarairie and Arrochar. This is proper biking country! It is superb, and I was thoroughly enjoying throwing the Scrambler around the twisties. It added about 50 miles to my return journey but it was worth it! :D

Finally got to the hotel at 7.30, some 300 plus miles under my belt, tired but very pleased with a great days riding :)

Tomorrow a member of ducat forum.co.uk is coming to meet me and we are having a run out. Hopefully the weather will be good :)

Ps. The scrambler (though I think it's more to do with the rider ;) ) has surprised all the guys on big sports bikes by how quick it is and how it handles :D

I've heard that many a time - not with me riding though, I don't do bends quick . Those Scottish roads are some of the best - found some brilliant ones on Skye, I will get there with bike one day!

Took mine out for a quick round trip to Wales and back, before the rain arrives o_O

Well today I spent the day riding some absolutely fantastic roads. Most of the Ducati Manchester group decided to head to Applecross for the day but Fin (from ducatiforum.co.uk) and I went off in our own :)

Fin took me to Lochgilphead, Tarbet, Oban, Strontian, Fort William, Tyndrum and back to Arrochar on some of the best roads known to man. Very little traffic, twistie and rolling like a twistie rolling thing and the tarmac was like a snooker table. And apart from the first 40 minutes this morning the weather has been glorious! 300 plus miles of awesomeness :)

Big up to @finm for a great day out, great company and for being Scotland's no.1 ambassador for the best biking roads ever! :)

Ps Some pics may follow if I manage to download them :p

Pps. And the Classic attracted admiring attention everywhere we stopped :D

Have you done the road to Applecross before? If not then its a must (We've done 6 trips up that way in our little hot hatches the last few years). Though those roads you did instead are a good substitute.

If you do the trip again next year gimme a shout and I'll tag along (I will have my Scrambler by then) as its not too far from us.

Glad you enjoyed yourselves though. We do have some awesome roads :adoration:

Yes I did the ride to Applecross a couple of years ago on my 848 Evo Corse :)

That was a great day too. Sun shone and it was about 27C and glorious:)

So that was why I chose not to do it this time :)

Next years trip is already booked with the hotel - 8/9/10 July 2016:headbang:

I love this helmet. Will be my next one for sure.
Yeah I tried on the GT-Air and it fit really well but had unnecessary things. I didn't like the flip-down sun visor and I didn't like that it wasn't SNELL rated in case I ever want to do a track day.

I *really* wanted an Arai but they didn't fit my face as well. Also, this livery is sick and I almost bought it but went with simple instead. It's the RF 1200 Terminus
