Hi, just picked up a classic this Saturday and enjoying getting back on a bike after 30 years.
Just occurred to me that as it only has a side stand I could do with something more sustantial to lift bike off the ground for maintenance and storage. I would be grateful for any suggestions. I am in the UK
Try the ABBA sports bike stand Graeme, I bought one a couple of weeks ago, some of the guys on here advised me, and they were right, a great piece of kit,
I ordered one of these too - came Monday - the bike wont come for another 2 weeks or so (65 plate) - the kit for the bike looks the same as the standard adaptors on the stand - sjut like extends teh standard sizes by 1/2" or so - is that the same as you got?
I bought some RG Racing rear spindle protectors from the UK which double as paddock stand bobbins. I will then be able to use any adjustable rear paddock stand. The bobbins are here. All I need is my Red Icon!!
Thanks Elvisto
Just been on the ABBA web site and that looks what I had in mind. Hopefully I can wait till they make one to fit a bit while I run the bike in before needing to lift the bike off the ground. Incidentally had to cobble a much longer extender to the crappy little C spanner supplied in the tool box to adjust rear shock pre load whilst on the side stand. Would not advise to try and adjust it using the little extender supplied in the tool kit! Must have weal wrists!
Yes Simon, but you'll find they are slightly large on the inside dimension, to clear the swing arm nuts across the nut points, just check it out when you get the bike
They also do an additional brkt that allows you to have the front end raised off the ground, I'm going to order that shortly , Didn't want to order it then find out I didn't like the stand,
Demon Tweaks at Wrexham industrial estate have them in stock Gill, just in case you're up that way sometime , The bottom adaptor bars are worth buying too,
M&P were flogging standard paddock stands worked fine £25 delivered just regret I didn't pick up the front at the same time !!!
