Hi folks, know anybody, what the tank panels from a "ducati scrambler icon" is made of?
Is this pure aluminium and then eloxed? Other metals or rather substances maybe?

They are aluminium, i can't tell if they're anodised or just laquered, someone will chime in with that hopefully.

For sure they are not made of pure aluminum, as they would be extremal soft, although they are made of some aluminium alloy. I am also convinced they are simply painted, not anodized. Sometimes at work I deal with anodized aluminium and I would't say the panels are anodized, as metal surface after anodization becomes very hard and you can really feel it

Thanks for the reponses. I've just anodized them into a new color. They look quite good. I will post some pictures at times.

Hello

I would say they are anodized, even it they don't seem to be hardened after that.

I've polished my tank panels and to do so, I needed to remove the surface treatment like any anodization, with a sodium hydroxide solution. The products to remove painting, like V33 products, were totally unefficient.
