As I patiently wait for the Italia Independent that I have a deposit on, I have been savoring all of the modifications and builds of the base Scramblers. Now, I am TEMPTED to buy a base Scrambler and let my creativity develop my own personal Scrambler variation. What would you do?

I was thinking about...
Painting it "Superman" blue
Paint the frame and rims a classy silver
Chrome end of handle bars mirrors
And cafe racer handle bars
Change the seat
Cafe racer fairing
Zard Exhaust low edition....
Can you imagine it...What do you all think???

I am mulling over the same dilemma, just want to start with the Urban Enduro and turn it into a far more capable dual sport. Thinking of the extended exhaust, heated grips, better suspension and forks, hand protectors, and military tank decals. Maybe a handlebar bag, but otherwise it. What do you guys think?

Hey, I got my II so I'm satisfied now. But I think no matter how you modify these bikes that they are simply the sweetest ever. Enjoy the land of joy.

I picked up my II yesterday and while I waited for my dealer to sort out the paperwork, this bike received a ton of long stares and compliments. No other Ducati received as much attention. So while I too was leaning towards making my own Custom Rumble Scrambler, I am totally stoked to have this copper beauty finally in my possession.

I understand. Every time I stop this baby somewhere all I get are a bunch of compliments as well. That is why I am no longer tempted. Welcome to the Land of Joy.

Getting tons of compliments, and am close to my first service...but dammit, I still want to build something that I can actually abuse and redline. Darn thing screams for hooliganism, but the Italia is like a fine wine or a dinner date at a museum--awesome but classy. Taking that offroad is heresy. Or am I simply being stupid? (Don't answer that)

I think I'll leave my 0412 alone - except for that stupid evap can - it is like a fine wine, aging with great credibility.
