Hi Dave
I get the impression that generally everyone who replaced the stock rear suspension has been very happy. I can only vouch for Maxton but sounds like all the after market products deliver a vast improvement.

I think there's a Brisbane suspension thread on here where some comparisons are made on 3 manufacturers. The conclusion was that Ohlins and Nitron are both very good improvements on standard but both were "harsher" than the M shock which proved the most comfortable. I'm going to buy an EMC offering
EMC France : EMC Shock Absorbers SportShock 2 for
in the spring. I'll give some feedback here but It won't be until well into spring.

I played around with the stock shock, to no avail. then bought a Nitron which was way! way! better and with simple adjustments ((which I have for sale)) you cant go wrong I did 100km on it but then while discussing front shock cartridges with SB Ken I bought the SBKen rear shock (and front shocks) and it was way! better again then the Nitron but you do have to play with the settings a lot more to get them spot on and then remember your settings for dirt riding. but it is adjustable on the move too.

I reckon at the end of the day day they are all selling good gear so it depends what you want to get out of your bike. I cant see me selling this bike so why not put some good gear on it!

Way too stiff, unless you weigh a lot more than most of us.
Your right I have been riding my classic for about 4 days now it's only done 400 miles but I have messed about with the rear shock and it's still harsh I'm 12 stone my mate got on the back yesterday I took him up the road and the rear was super smooth with the springs compressed in more . So I have been trolling the internet last night looking what to spend my money on Ohlins, Nitron and Maxton or something else they all seem to be in the £450 mark just looking on here what to go for
